The Concept
The image is inspired by the paradox of the advances in the potential for connectivity around us, whilst people twist and hammer tools and systems to fit their needs - for good and bad. The ever present impact of 'cock-up' and happenstance reminded me of Heath Robinson's Professor Branestawm illustrations, along with the chaos of the Beano... and well, this happened.
The Artist
Tony Pickering is a freelance illustrator, comics creator, and artist whose work focuses on internal and external cartography in the sense of mapping personal experience to a wider world.
